The All-Unwanted All-Pros, conference championship analysis, and more

As his face reddened throughout the contest, and viewers worried Coughlin would suffer frostbite, the Jersey/A coach never reached for additional clothing. Coughlin toughed it out, honoring the immutable law: Cold Coach = Victory. And yea, verily, victory came to pass. McCarthy seemed afraid of the weather, and seeming afraid sends the wrong message to your team.

Dream House TV

On a yet-to-be-chosen date, the redone home with an outdated kitchen will be the subject of a seven-minute segment on one of HGTV's most-watched shows.

"It'll be neat -- our seven minutes of fame," Norris said, after more than six hours of taping ended one rainy October afternoon.

The Baltimore homeowners are among a growing number of people mesmerized by house and landscape shows -- enough for HGTV to program extensively (more than 20 hours a day) about frog homes turned into princes, house projects and crafts, home-selling hints and buying tips, design how-tos and more. And that doesn't touch similar programs.

The cable channel is 13 years old this month; the grandpa of these shows, the nuts-and-bolts This Old House, is in its 29th season on PBS.

Taunton readies for Hollywood invasion

Filming of Martin Scorcese's feature "Ashecliffe" is set to begin this week at Whittenton Mills, but it's unlikely that city residents will be able to get an in-person sneak preview of the action.

"It's a closed set, per the direction of Martin Scorcese," Mayor Charles Crowley said.

The mayor has a meeting scheduled this afternoon with the Oscar-winning director's publicist and will discuss the possibility of making the set a bit more open.

He said he would like to work out an arrangement to allow students in audio-visual classes at Taunton High School to be on set to see how the pros do it.

Based on Dennis Lehane's novel, "Shutter Island," the film will feature a number of Hollywood stars, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Kingsley, Mark Ruffalo and Michelle Williams.

No Country For Old Men Triumphs At The Oscars

Dark thriller No Country For Old Men was the big winner at the 80th Academy Awards in Hollywood on Sunday, after claiming four of the eight prizes the film was nominated for.

As well as being named Best Motion Picture, siblings Joel and Ethan Coen claimed the night's Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay trophies, with Javier Bardem taking home the Best Supporting Actor honour for his portrayal of the film's psychotic killer, Anton Chigurh.

The Bourne Ultimatum was a triple winner, collecting accolades for Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing and Best Film Editing.

There Will Be Blood and La Vie En Rose were double winners.

It was also a great night for Europe with Irishman Daniel Day-Lewis, French actress Marion Cotillard and Brit Tilda Swinton joining Spaniard Bardem in a clean sweep of the night's acting awards.

Rio Tinto: Outlook for metals and minerals

In a US recession, there would need to be less investment in that country than would otherwise be the case. The excess funds would therefore be released for investment in other countries. Indeed, it is possible that a large portion of these could find their way into emerging markets such as China with positive effects on GDP. Various analyses suggest that such financial flows could offset the direct trade loss in a US recessionary scenario. Our analysis also shows a number of other positive and negative effects from a US slowdown. These are related to real exchange rate movements, shifts in terms of trade, consumption multipliers and various indirect trade effects from other countries back into China. But on balance we find it difficult to obtain a negative impact from a US recession on Chinese GDP that exceeds one percentage point.

Ting Tings release first single

The Ting Tings have released their much-anticipated debut single Great DJ.

And the duo, who have been billed as a band to watch for 2008, have revealed their surprise at how much buzz has been surrounding their music.

Speaking of their new release they said: "We hand-made all our singles so we did a limited copy with only a small amount going out.

"It's quite shocking all this coverage we've been getting. Airplay and stuff has been amazing."

Although the group are playing down the hype, they are hoping to drum up more support ahead of their album release in May.

They said: "We try not to read too much of it because it can give you a really big head. So I think we've got to play shows all this year and show people what we do."
